Terms of Use
1. This agreement
These terms are between you and the individual developer who builds and operates Remarq, not a company. By installing or using the Remarq app, or this website, you accept them. If you do not, do not use Remarq.
Remarq is distributed through the App Store, so Apple’s own terms apply to the download alongside these. Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no responsibility for the app or for support of it.
2. What you may do with Remarq
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Remarq on devices you own or control. That licence lasts as long as you follow these terms.
You may not resell, rent or redistribute the app, take it apart to recreate it, or use it to record people without the consent the law requires where you are, or to break the law in any other way.
3. Transcripts and search
Automatic transcription and reading text from images are not perfect. A transcript can miss or mishear words, and text on screen can be read wrongly or not at all, so a search may not find every note.
- The audio you record is always kept with the note, so you can play what you actually said.
- How well transcription works depends on the language, the device, the microphone and the room.
- Do not rely on Remarq as the only record of anything important, such as a payment deadline or a legal or medical instruction.
4. No accounts
Remarq has no account system. There is nothing to register, sign into, or delete on a server of ours, because nothing about your use of the app is stored anywhere but your own device and your own iCloud.
5. Your content
You keep all ownership of the screenshots, photos, videos and voice notes you use with Remarq. Remarq claims no licence to your content beyond what is needed to process it on your device and, when iCloud is on, in your own iCloud. You are responsible for having the right to use what you share to it.
6. iCloud and backups
Syncing is provided by Apple’s iCloud and depends on your Apple Account, your iCloud storage and your connection. We do not control it and cannot recover notes that were deleted or never synced. Keep your device backed up.
7. Availability and changes
Remarq is offered as it is. Features can be added, changed or removed. Some features need a newer iOS or a supported language, and the app keeps working without them. We do not promise that it will always work, or work without errors.
8. Ownership
The Remarq app, its name, its icon, its design and its code are ours. Apple’s speech, text recognition and iCloud frameworks are used under Apple’s platform terms.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Remarq is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or loss arising from a wrong transcript or a note that search did not find. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited under Turkish law. Where you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
10. Ending it
You can stop using Remarq at any time by deleting the app and, if you like, its data in your iCloud storage. We may end this licence if you materially break these terms.
11. Governing law
Turkish law governs these terms, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you may also use the consumer arbitration committees available to you in Turkey.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the effective date above changes and the current version is always here. A change that materially affects you will be shown in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Remarq after that is acceptance.
